Successful Ways to Increase Website Visitors

If you've struggled with driving traffic to your website, you're not alone. According to 2020 research done by Content Marketing Institute, 63% of content professionals are challenged with finding enough staff skilled in content strategy which is one of the top drivers of website traffic. Between writing a new blog post, posting on social media, and strategizing for a new email campaign, it's hard to look back and see what's driving traffic to your site and what isn't. Let's take a look at a few successful ways to increase your website visitors.

In today’s online world, driving targeted traffic to your website is a cornerstone of successful digital marketing.

Unfortunately, it’s also easier said than done.

Indeed, almost two-thirds of businesses struggle to hire enough staff who are skilled at content strategy nowadays (a primary source of web traffic).

Are you familiar with this issue and want some effective ways to turn the situation around?

Well, with over 70 years of experience in the field, we can help.

Read on for a selection of proven strategies to increase website visitors.

Upgrade Outdated Posts

Blogs are the old dog of digital marketing.

They’ve been around forever and a day, but continue to be a leading driver of web traffic!

However, most site owners have a stack of old posts that have become outdated and contribute very little by way of visitors.

If that sounds familiar, then you’re sitting on a goldmine of potential traffic. Why?

Because Google loves fresh content.

Updating your old posts is a sure-fire way to see a swift uptick in traffic. It’s also far easier and less time-consuming than writing new articles from scratch!

Try adding new information, removing anything that’s become irrelevant, swapping old images for new ones (especially screenshots), and formatting everything to be more user-friendly.

Take things even further by transforming your posts into new types of content.

Turning a simple article into a slideshow, infographic, and/or an ebook (and then sharing them on relevant platforms) is guaranteed to increase website visitors.

Write Guest Posts (the Right Way)

Guest posting is a great way to build backlinks and generate website traffic.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to do it though.

Firstly, not all websites are made equal! For the best ROI, focus your resources on writing for high-authority sites in your particular niche.

Your post will get far more exposure and any links will have a bigger impact on SEO. Both outcomes are a major boon for anyone hoping to increase website visitors.

Next, avoid putting that all-important “author bio” section at the very bottom of each post.

Incorporate it at the beginning wherever possible. Better still, include a “useful resources” section early on in the article with a link to one of your own blog posts. Readers are ten times more likely to click on this vs one in a bio at the end.

Leverage LSI Keywords

Most marketers know how central search engine optimization is to increasing website visitors.

But SEO looks very different in 2021 than it did a few years ago!

Indeed, one of the most significant changes came when Google implemented its Hummingbird algorithm. In one fell swoop, SEO became less about keywords and more about entire subjects.

And that’s where latent semantic indexing (or LSI, for short) keywords come into play.

These vital words and phrases relate to your primary keyword and ensure Google understands exactly what your content’s about.

For example, imagine writing a blog post about the Cars movie franchise.

Entitled “The Best Cars Ever Made”, Google may assume it’s about actual vehicles as opposed to the animated movies.

Change it to “The Best Cars Movie Ever Made”, though, and it wouldn’t be a problem.

In this example, an LSI keyword is “movie”. By scattering these types of words throughout your content, your articles should rank higher and deliver more traffic to your website as a result.

Time to Increase Website Visitors

Finding ways to generate website traffic is a major goal for all digital marketers these days.

With any luck, the suggestions in this article will help in that regard! Keep them in mind, put them into action, and it shouldn’t be long

before your traffic stats start to spike.
